Batley Lancaster Bomber Fly Past

Visitors to this year’s Batley Vintage Day will be keeping their eyes to the skies for a rare treat, a fly past by the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight’s Lancaster bomber. And this is a rare treat indeed as there is only one flying Lancaster in this country and it makes only limited appearances.

“We are very lucky to have this wonderful experience” said Andrew Marsden the event manager “You can usually only see the Lancaster flying at the larger air shows. For it to come to Batley is a real privilege”

The Lancaster is scheduled to make three low level fly pasts at or round 14:00. However organisers stress that things can be changed by the Battle of Britain Flight and the time might alter.

Batley Vintage Day is now in it’s third year and takes place on 28 May 2016. There is a full day of free vintage fun, featuring music, dance, vehicles, foo and drink, workshops and more. More information can be found at www.batleyvintageday.co.uk
