Volunteers and the Law
Andrew Marsden from our batley office recently spent a most enjoyable afternoon visiting Harrogate & Ripon Centres for Voluntary Service (https://www.harcvs.org.uk/) to deliver his seminar on Volunteers and the Law. It was an afternoon of lively discussion and questions from the delegates on topics as far ranging as volunteer agreements to interns to DBS, even covering some intellectual property law along the way.
This is a topic close to Andrew’s heart, as whilst law might take up his day to day life, Andrew has and continues to be involved in many volunteer activities, both as a coordinator and as a volunteer himself. “It is always a pleasure to spend time with groups who do so much to help, support and improve our communities, and hopefully give a bit back to them by through some advice and guidance in what can be tricky legal areas” said Andrew “without volunteers and those who look after them an awful lot of what we all take for granted would simply not happen”
The seminar is free – although a cuppa and a biscuit is always welcome – and available to any group or organisation who help and provide support to volunteers, volunteer managers and volunteer groups.
