Birstall residents flushed with success following public toilet decision!

With the support of over 2000 petitioners, Birstall Chamber of Trade recently won their battle to keep open Birstall’s public toilets.

The Chamber have been granted a lease of the toilets from Kirklees Council and will be be responsible for the toilets for at least the next 12 months. The toilets are key to residents and visitors of Birstall’s centre especially the elderly, parents with young children and people with disabilities.

Without these facilities people would be forced away from Birstall to shop elsewhere with such facilities with the inevitable impact upon local trade and people’s well being.

Brearleys are proud to support the initiative and wish the Chamber the best of luck in this recent initiative and all those to come.
