A recent survey by the National Trust suggests that children are spending only half the time playing outside that their parents did. The trust is hoping to help reverse that trend by creating a list of 50 things for children to do.

The list contains many activities most parents and certainly older generations will remember from their childhood days, such as skimming stones, climbing a tree and the old favourite pooh sticks.

So why not put down the games controller, turn off the screen and pick up a simple wooden stick?? you will be amazed how much fun you can have on a sunny summer’s day.
