Big changes for Batley

Big Changes For Batley

Kirklees Council has recently released the final plans for the Batley Blueprint. A range of work and improvements to take place in the town with a view to “revitalising the town centre, making it more vibrant and better connected, and making sure public spaces are welcoming for everyone who lives, works or visits the town centre.”

We are delighted that the area in front of our office at 1 Brunswick Street in the heart of the town will be part of the regeneration plans. The full plans for the town can be seen here https://www.kirklees.gov.uk/beta/batley-blueprint/index.aspx

Bringing a variety of changes to the traffic and pedestrian routes in the town the changes are designed to make Batley more accessible, easier and safer to get around and importantly to help promote the community use of the town centre.

This includes an improved and landscaped pedestrian route from the Tesco car park up to Commercial Street and the increase of pedestrian areas.

Work will also take place to the Market Place to help improve facilities for events and markets, such as the always popular Christmas Lights switch – more details to come soon.

Brearleys have been proud to serve the legal needs of the Batley community since 1833. And we have seen many changes over those years. We have seen the town and it’s community change and adapt, as we have changed and adapted with it, to make sure we can continue to support our community with the legal assistance it needs.

We are looking forward to seeing what the changes will look like across Batley, and to many more years of providing top quality legal advice and support to the Batley community.
