Professional Negligence

Knowing where to turn when your solicitor or other professional adviser has been negligent in handling your case is not easy.  For a start you are not sure of your ground.  “Am I right about this?”  “After all he is the expert, I’m sure he knows what he’s doing?”  “It’s no good seeing another solicitor because all solicitors stick together.”

It’s a fact that solicitors make mistakes like everyone else.  They are not perfect.  It’s also a fact that when they do it can cause their clients a huge amount of stress and expense. 

A typical case is where a solicitor allows his client’s claim to go out of time thereby depriving his client of thousands of pounds of compensation which he will no longer be able to claim. 

Another example is the solicitor who does the conveyancing for his client on the purchase of a house and fails to do spot that the house does not have planning permission costing the client thousands of pounds to put things right.  These types of cases are all too common and there is a huge volume of claims against solicitors every year.
