Asbestos related disease

The picture on the right shows a pile of blue asbestos.  Asbestosis, Mesothelioma and pleural placques are all diseases that are caused by the inhalation at some time of asbestos fibres.  It used to be the case that asbestos was literally used in everything, from roof linings to brakepads.  It is not in fact dangerous in its 'inert' form ;that is when it is in a board or brick - when it is solid and not breaking down.

It is the dust and fibres that are however dangerous and can be fatal.  Just one fibre or particle if breathed in can over time kill you.

Now there are very strict regulations relating to its removal and handling.  This was not always the case however and in fact not too long ago people would routinely work with it in its dusty dangerous state.

It was often found in boilerhouses lagging pipes, in roof linings and on walls in factories.  Often people are exposed by reason of their carrying out maintenance works that would disturb the asbestos and in doing so would create the lethal dust.

Many people do not go on to develop any disease at all ; some end up with the mild issue of pleural placques ; an unlucky few develop the more serious and ultimately fatal disease.

We are well experienced in handling these types of cases.  We are used to proving exposure long ago and understand how to deal with the compensation side of things in these complicated and often difficult cases.  It will not cost you a penny to instruct us and we will achieve the best possible result.
